The leafless tree represents the human condition within modern society, a society that slowly absorbs and consumes our vital energies making us dependent on material possession of objects and people, slaves of a material obsession totally disconnected to a man's natural state and which can only lead to its extinction, as a leafless tree is destined to death. The annulment of ego ("start becoming nothing") is the only way that leads to rebirth as a species.
